Not every problem fits neatly under "build me a website" or "design me a database". Sometimes what a business actually needs is someone senior to walk in, look at what's there, understand what's broken or at risk, and either fix it or write down what should happen next.
That's what IT consultancy covers here — the strategic and advisory work that doesn't fit under our other services, but where you need the same technical depth we bring to the ones that do.
When people bring us in
- Something's gone wrong and nobody's sure how bad it is — a server won't boot, a database is behaving strangely, a critical piece of software has stopped talking to something else, and you need someone to triage before deciding what to do.
- The current setup won't scale — what worked at 5 users, 10 clients or 100GB of data is creaking, and you need an outside view on what needs to change and in what order.
- A vendor is telling you something and you're not sure if it's true — proposals, quotes, technical claims. A second opinion from someone who isn't selling you anything.
- You inherited a mess — took over a business, took over an IT role, absorbed another company. Need someone to map what exists and what's actually in use.
- You need a plan, not a project — a roadmap for the next 6–12 months of technology decisions, sequenced by risk and cost.
How it usually works
- A short paid discovery to understand what you have, what you need, and what's actually urgent versus what's noise
- A written recommendation — plain language, no jargon dump, with options and trade-offs rather than a single "you must do this"
- Implementation, if you want us — sometimes that's Blue Splash doing the work, sometimes it's your team executing our plan, sometimes it's introducing you to a specialist we trust
We don't do managed services or monthly retainers. If ongoing hands-on IT support is what you need, we'll say so and point you at someone who does that well.
